Malicious functions:
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
forces the system hide from view:
- hidden files
Executes the following:
- '<SYSTEM32>\rundll32.exe' <SYSTEM32>\shimgvw.dll,ImageView_Fullscreen %TEMP%\firstfile.jpg
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- %TEMP%\firstfile.jpg
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Sys.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
Network activity:
Connects to:
- 'sm##.gmail.com':587
UDP:
- DNS ASK sm##.gmail.com
Miscellaneous:
Searches for the following windows:
- ClassName: 'ShImgVw:CPreviewWnd' WindowName: '(null)'
- ClassName: 'Shell_TrayWnd' WindowName: '(null)'
