To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'system' = '<SYSTEM32>\system.exe'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\system.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\AutoRun.vbs
- <Drive name for removable media>:\AutoRun.inf
Malicious functions:
Executes the following:
- '<SYSTEM32>\net.exe' stop wscsvc
- '<SYSTEM32>\net1.exe' stop wscsvc
- '<SYSTEM32>\rundll32.exe' <SYSTEM32>\geagg.dll abcdef
- '<SYSTEM32>\rundll32.exe' <SYSTEM32>\syste2.dll aaaaaa
Hooks the following functions in System Service Descriptor Table (SSDT):
- NtQuerySystemInformation, handler: pcidump.sys
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- %TEMP%\215859.tmp
- C:\AutoRun.inf
- C:\system.exe
- C:\AutoRun.vbs
- <SYSTEM32>\syste2.dll
- C:\Driver.sys
- <SYSTEM32>\geagg.dll
- <DRIVERS>\pcidump.sys
- <SYSTEM32>\Hook.sys
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\system.exe
- C:\system.exe
Deletes the following files:
- <DRIVERS>\pcidump.sys
- C:\Driver.sys
- <SYSTEM32>\Hook.sys
Moves itself:
- from <Full path to virus> to <SYSTEM32>\system.exe
