- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] 'Shell' = 'explorer.exe Nargiz.exe'
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'rstrui' = '<SYSTEM32>\Restore\Ntldr.exe'
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'Ntldr' = '<SYSTEM32>\Restore\Ntldr.exe'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
Malicious functions:
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
forces the system hide from view:
- hidden files
Executes the following:
- '<SYSTEM32>\tree.com' E:
- '<SYSTEM32>\tree.com' /c <SYSTEM32>\Restore\worm.bat
- '<SYSTEM32>\attrib.exe' /pid=2840
- '<SYSTEM32>\attrib.exe' +R +H +S Ntldr.exe
- '<SYSTEM32>\cmd.exe' /c <SYSTEM32>\Restore\xeon.bat
- '<SYSTEM32>\cmd.exe' /c <SYSTEM32>\Restore\crack.bat
- '<SYSTEM32>\cmd.exe' /c <SYSTEM32>\Restore\worm.bat
Injects code into
the following system processes:
- <SYSTEM32>\tree.com
- <SYSTEM32>\cmd.exe
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- <SYSTEM32>\Restore\crack.bat
- <SYSTEM32>\Restore\cpnx.dll
- <SYSTEM32>\Restore\awax.rex
- <SYSTEM32>\Restore\worm.bat
- C:\autorun.inf
- <Current directory>\autorun.inf
- <SYSTEM32>\Restore\xeon.bat
- <SYSTEM32>\autorun.inf
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- C:\autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- <Current directory>\autorun.inf
- <SYSTEM32>\autorun.inf
Deletes the following files:
- <SYSTEM32>\Restore\crack.bat
Miscellaneous:
Searches for the following windows:
- ClassName: '(null)' WindowName: 'Windows Task Manager'
- ClassName: 'Indicator' WindowName: '(null)'
- ClassName: '(null)' WindowName: 'BitDefender 9 Professional Plus'
