Malicious functions:
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
forces the system hide from view:
- hidden files
blocks execution of the following system utilities:
- Registry Editor (RegEdit)
Creates and executes the following:
- <SYSTEM32>\winrun.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\winrun.exe (downloaded from the Internet)
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- %HOMEPATH%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\KHMHGZ4F\kl[1].exe
- <SYSTEM32>\winrun.exe
- C:\net.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\xpserve.exe
- C:\autorun.inf
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\net.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- C:\net.exe
- C:\autorun.inf
