To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'system1' = '<SYSTEM32>\<Virus name>.exe'
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'system1' = '<SYSTEM32>\<Virus name>.exe'
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'system' = '%WINDIR%\<Virus name>.exe'
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'system' = '%WINDIR%\<Virus name>.exe'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\<Virus name>.exe
Malicious functions:
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
forces the system hide from view:
- hidden files
Terminates or attempts to terminate
the following user processes:
- fsavgui.exe
- nod.exe
- nod32.exe
- AVGCTRL.EXE
- 360tray.exe
- avgcc.exe
- AVGCC32.EXE
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- <SYSTEM32>\<Virus name>.exe
- %WINDIR%\<Virus name>.exe
- C:\Autorun.inf
- C:\<Virus name>.exe
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Autorun.inf
- <SYSTEM32>\<Virus name>.exe
- %WINDIR%\<Virus name>.exe
- C:\<Virus name>.exe
- C:\Autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\<Virus name>.exe
