Creates the following services:
- [<HKLM>\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\SelfProtect] 'Start' = '00000002'
Malicious functions:
Creates and executes the following:
- %CommonProgramFiles%\POPwad.exe
- %CommonProgramFiles%\IEProtector.exe init
Hooks the following functions in System Service Descriptor Table (SSDT):
- NtQuerySystemInformation, handler: SelfProtect.sys
- NtEnumerateValueKey, handler: SelfProtect.sys
- NtCreateProcessEx, handler: SelfProtect.sys
Hides the following processes:
- %CommonProgramFiles%\IEProtector.exe
- %CommonProgramFiles%\POPwad.exe
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- %CommonProgramFiles%\SelfProtect.sys
- <Current directory>\del.bat
- %CommonProgramFiles%\POPwad.exe
- %CommonProgramFiles%\IEProtector.exe
Deletes itself.
