To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'Microsoft Agent' = '<SYSTEM32>\SVCH0ST.EXE'
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows] 'load' = '%WINDIR%/system/dllhost.com'
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] 'shell' = 'Explorer.exe %WINDIR%/system32/SVCH0ST.EXE'
Creates or modifies the following files:
- %HOMEPATH%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\Microsoft 0ffice.exe
- %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\Microsoft 0ffice.exe
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\RECYCLER\RECYCLER\autorun.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Backup Folder.exe
Malicious functions:
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
blocks execution of the following system utilities:
- Windows Task Manager (Taskmgr)
- Registry Editor (RegEdit)
Executes the following:
- %WINDIR%\explorer.exe
Modifies settings of Windows Explorer:
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] 'NoRun' = '00000001'
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] 'NoFind' = '00000001'
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- %HOMEPATH%\My Documents\My Received Files\Pictures from www.crnjeufu.exe
- %HOMEPATH%\Favorites\Links\www.crnjeufu.com
- %HOMEPATH%\My Documents\My Pictures\_recycled[010].com
- %TEMP%\CRNJEUFU.EXE
- %HOMEPATH%\My Documents\My Music\My Documents.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\SVCH0ST.EXE
- %WINDIR%\system\dllhost.com
