To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'Service' = '%WINDIR%\Service.exe'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\<Virus name>.exe
Malicious functions:
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
forces the system hide from view:
- hidden files
blocks execution of the following system utilities:
- Command Prompt (CMD)
Forces autoplay for removable media.
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- %WINDIR%\sys.log
- C:\autorun.inf
- %WINDIR%\service.exe
- C:\<Virus name>.exe
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- %WINDIR%\sys.log
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- C:\autorun.inf
Miscellaneous:
Searches for the following windows:
- ClassName: '' WindowName: 'System Configuration Utility'
- ClassName: '' WindowName: 'System Configuration'
- ClassName: 'Indicator' WindowName: ''
- ClassName: '' WindowName: 'Windows Task Manager'
