To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'HUI' = '%WINDIR%\virus.exe'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
Malicious functions:
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
forces the system hide from view:
- hidden files
- file extensions
Executes the following:
- %WINDIR%\explorer.exe <Current directory>
Modifies settings of Windows Explorer:
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer] 'DisableLocalMachineRun' = '00000000'
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer] 'DisableCurrentUserRun' = '00000000'
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] 'DisableLocalMachineRun' = '00000000'
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] 'DisableCurrentUserRun' = '00000000'
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- C:\autorun.inf
- %WINDIR%\autorun.inf
- %HOMEPATH%\Desktop\1.lnk
- <Current directory>\autorun.inf
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- %HOMEPATH%\Desktop\1.lnk
- <Current directory>\autorun.inf
Deletes the following files:
- %WINDIR%\autorun.inf
